FINALLY! The book My and I have been working on for over a year is now published in Sweden! It’s called ‘Rullrån och tankebrus – En bakbok för livet och döden’ in Swedish which is kind of difficult to translate. It’s 319 pages thick, filled with My’s fantastic texts, recipes and illustrations, my photos and design by Emilie Crispin Ekström.
I’m extra proud of us for completing this book because we were both going through difficult times while making it. In October last year, my mother was admitted to the hospital for cancer treatment. She spent the next five months in the hospital. It was an emotional rollercoaster, from thinking she would make it to losing all hope. Over and over again. Sadly, she passed away just two days after we finished shooting. The name of the book felt even more fitting after everything that happened – ‘En bakbok för livet och döden’ means ‘A baking book for life and death’.
I just wanted to share some of my favorite photos from the book with you 🙂 If you’re located in Sweden you can buy a signed copy (in Swedish, but we are crossing our fingers for translations) directly from My here and if you’re located outside of Sweden, Bokus ships to most countries in the EU and some outside of EU too.
