This brownie mix makes such a nice gift, not just for Christmas and holidays but also as a birthday present or perhaps, for no special reason. The only thing the person who receives it needs to do is pour the contents of the jar into a bowl, add 150 g melted butter, 3 large eggs and 4 tbsp. of coffee and then bake it off course. Easy, huh?
It’s been 9 years since I originally created this post, time flies! I figured it was time to update it a little bit, to test bake and update with new photos and better instructions, and most of all to see if it was still relevant. It definitely was!
If you want to see how my photography has evolved over the years, I’ve kept the old photos at the bottom of the post. They still look great to me, but perhaps a little bright, haha. I also wanted to make a video to go with it, and a printable that you can use if you make this gift. You can download the printable HERE.
If you’re looking for more edible gifts, I have more gifts in jars over here, flavored sugar and a homemade chai concentrate! And to see the brownie mix baked, I’ve included a couple of photos of that in this post too! I should mention I baked it in a 20×20 cm pan this time and after 32 minutes in the oven and a day in the fridge it had the perfect consistency according to me. If you see the photos from 2011 I had a bigger pan and baked it for around 27 minutes and they came out firmer. It all depends on what you like!

Hi –
Please caan you tell me what measurement a DL is?
Thanks
Check the FAQ! 🙂
Hi can you give an approximate size for the jar?
What size baking dish does this use? Looks lovely. Can I halve the recipe and use a smaller jar & smaller baking dish?
Thank you!
Also, I'm guessing the coffee and vanilla go in with the butter & eggs?
Thank you very much for sharing this recipe!
