I finally made these bows (very last minute) that I’ve been thinking about for over a month! They’re perfect for gift wrapping and decorations, and if you use a gentle glue you can unfold them, save them (flattened, I mean) and re-use them! Scroll down to download the templates for both single and double sided paper, and to watch the video where I make them. I made a huge one as well, but I don’t have a template for it as it’s too big for a regular printer.
Feel free to scale the PDF to any size! But for regular A4, scale the pdf a little bit to make sure the template fits a folded A4 paper (to about 90-95%) when printing. Print out (on slightly thicker paper if possible), cut out and use this to trace onto other paper. The “bow” piece needs to be placed on folded paper, but the other pieces do not. It’s definitely easier to make bows on paper that is double sided, meaning the paper is the same color or print on both sides. It’s possible to make bows from single sided paper as well but you’ll need a few more pieces and a little bit more glue – I have made a template for that too as most ‘fancy’ paper is single sided.
If you want to put the bows together quickly I recommend using a glue gun, but on the other hand a glue stick is more gentle and you’ll be able to unfold the bows if you want to store them and re-use them. What type of glue you’ll need also depends on the paper you’re using. I made one with a piece of wallpaper and I needed to use a glue gun for it to stick.
