I’ve seen mountains. I’ve seen northern lights, waterfalls, beaches with black sand and pink sunsets. I’ve seen long empty roads. I’ve seen more sheep than I could ever count. I’ve bathed in hot springs (and a jacuzzi!).
We drove in the highlands through water and gravel without seeing a single soul for hours. In the dark and through the thickest fog I’ve ever seen. For a few minutes I was quite worried, but we kept our spirits up in the car.
I’ve seen some unreal things that I never thought I would see. And in very good company. It has been a remarkable journey in so many ways and I will never forget it.
The beauty of Iceland has blown me away. It’s a place of magic.
The pictures of the turquoise ice blocks are from the ice lake Jökulsárlón. When we drove up to it my eyes started tearing up (and I was not alone) from the sight. It was unreal. I had never seen such beauty before. The ice blocks are constantly changing and when we were there they were relatively small. If you’re ever going to Iceland, I highly suggest you visit this place. We also went to Landmannalaugar, Blue Lagoon, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss, Vík, Gullfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir. And some places inbetween of course.
I went on this trip with Fotoresor, with a group of wonderful photographers. I’ve never done anything like this before in my life (and I never thought I would) but I’m just so incredibly happy that I did.
We didn’t spend much time in Reykjavik because there were so many other things to see. Next time I go there I need to spend more time exploring the city.
Did I see Björk you ask? Why yes. Yes I did (for real). For the complete Icelandic experience.

these are incredible. thank you for sharing.
Thank you Michele! 🙂
I really enjoyed looking through your photographs from Iceland – they're super beautiful. Such a magical place to visit. I went to Helsinki a couple of years ago and while it was AMAZING, I would have loved to have seen the rural side of Finland.
Thank you dear Sophie! I agree, it's always fun to see a country from a different side than only the big cities..
just beautiful…thanks for sharing
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the photos 🙂

Bramble & Thorn
Incredible photos.
What beautiful, beautiful photos. I went to Iceland a couple of years ago and frequented what was supposedly Björk's favorite coffee shop but never bumped into her, unfortunately. But I can't believe you did! I'm heading back in 6 weeks (!) and your photos have me so anxious to walk on Vík's black sand beaches again. Such a magical country, isn't it?
GASP. There is a quietness, a solitude, and a brutal sense of beauty and aloneness – these photos are so beautiful Linda, I can only imagine seeing Iceland in person. Incredible. Plus – you saw Bjork! You should offer to make her a cake … I feel like she would love one of your creations … xoxo
Simply stunning! I'm going to have to put this on my ever growing list of places I need to visit!

Bjork?? Now that's a sighting! I'm jealous!
I love your post, not only because of this rough Icelandic beauty you picture so gorgeously, but also because this complements your site with all the immaculate sweets and cupcakes (if I may say so – they´re amazing, too!!) in such an interesting and exiting way! Greetings from Germany, Sabine.
Your photography is stunnig! I fail words to express my feelings about it…!
You made me add another item to my 'to do before I die' list.
Beautiful!
Helt sjukt fint.
¡Hello Linda!! I guess you probably suffered a sort of Stendhal syndrome… and I totally usderstand it, seeing such a beauty. It is true it seems a little bit unreal since some pictures of the landscape could be taken from "The Lord of the Rings" or any world of fantasy… An amazing experience and also an amazing portrait of it!
A big hug from Spain,
Marta (Sweet & Home/La Vida es Dulce")
Men gUD vilka foton! Helt fantastiska… måste fråga vad för kamera du har? kram!!!
Tusen tack! Jag har en Canon eos 5D mark II. Alla bilder i detta inlägg är fotograferade med ett 24-70 objektiv! 🙂

PS: you are a very talented photographer Linda!
Wow, these are hands down the most beautiful photos I've ever seen! I think I don't even need to mention how badly I want to visit Iceland now.
Love your blog, your recipes and pictures Linda, truly gorgeous.
But this post brought a few tears to my eyes – born and raised in Iceland, but living abroad now, homesick and so so proud of my beautiful country by seeing it with your eyes and magnificent photos.
I can taste the air (no place is it clearer and fresher) and the width and high sky, your pictures do capture the real Iceland. So thank you 🙂
…and for just being kind of badass at this baking thing!
xoxo

Wow your photos are so amazing Linda!!! I'm in love with Iceland and with these pictures, I published a post last year about it on my blog, this was the most beautiful road trip I did, there were rainbows everywhere, in every falls (we had nice weather). This post is magic, want to see the next part 🙂
Dear Linda, warm greetings from Singapore! I couldn't be more excited to see this post, since I'm heading to Iceland myself in the hopes to seeing the Northern Lights next year! Looking forward to seeing more posts on what you did and went. Some recommendations would be very much appreciated! Cheers! :))

Thank you so much for sharing your incredible photos, Linda! The Icelandic landscape almost looks alien – I've never seen anything like those iceblocks from Jökulsárlón! Chillingly beautiful and remote looking! xx

These photos are simply breathtaking. Absolutely, positively beautiful.
Wonderful pictures of Iceland! I flew over the island a long time ago and only set foot in the airport, but the beauty of this place is still in my memories of a young girl travelling to the states

Vilka vackra bilder. Imponerad av det vackra landskapet. 🙂
I miss Iceland so much now. Ahhh, beautiful pictures!
My beautiful home country – I miss it! (I live in Denmark now). Next time you go (and I'm guessing you definitely will? 😉 ), I reccomend seeing the tiny Island South of Iceland called Heimaey – it is so beautiful and peaceful.
These pictures are absolutely amazing. I especially love the house by the mountains and the adorable sheep.
Så fantastiskt vackert Linda! Speechless…. Nu blev jag också sugen på att göra en fotoresa med fotoresor – tack för tipset!

Amazing
Amazing Photography, Thanks for Sharing
Your photography is incredible, I'm (trying) to teach myself photography and am off to Iceland in a couple of weeks, just out of curiosity did you use a tripod for many of your pictures? I love the richness in detail with your photos, fantastic!
Thank you so much! Ahh, Iceland. Sure you will enjoy it! I didn't use my tripod a lot, mostly because I had some trouble with it. I'd say, definitely bring a tripod since it gets dark very early. And you can get some cool long exposure waterfall photos 🙂
This is so crazy gorgeous- i must go!
This is crazy gorgeous. Your photos are literally breathtaking!!
